Team Lead for Software Development - IT

We are currently seeking for our client, one of Canada’s largest companies in the heavy equipment Industry a Software Development Team Lead for the IT Department. This position is responsible to lead the team of software developers at our in the creation and maintenance of interfaces and custom developed programs that provide us a distinct competitive advantage.  

 

Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Providing leadership and direction to software developers building and maintaining interfaces and custom solutions 
  • Providing and assigning the correct resources to support IT projects undertaken 
  • Provide technical support to developers on the team, helping to research bug fixes and solutions
  • Ensure that standards are established and maintained including programming standards and documentation standard.
  • Creation, maintenance and reporting of all processes performed by the group
  • Provide updates on work actively being worked on to the Director Application Support
  • Work collaboratively with all other IT disciplines 
  • Ensure that all work artifacts are properly documented and documentation is maintained
  • Other duties as required

 

 

Qualification

  • Tech school Computer Systems diploma or University degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • 6+ years of experience in delivering web based solutions.
  • Experience in delivering high quality, well designed systems delivering robust, high-availability, applications
  • Strong knowledge of Team Foundation Server and/or Git
  • Experience in software architecture and design
  • Excellent practical experience and expert knowledge using demonstrated experience developing web based solutions C#, ASP.NET, MVC, Web Api
  • Established skills in designing and developing MS SQL 2008 or higher databases.
  • Familiarity with front end and database access technologies including CSS, Javascript, Jquery, and LINQ, Entity Framework.
  • Knowledge of Kentico CMS and SharePoint an asset
  • Previous experience providing direction to others
